Hypocrite

If I fail to practice what I preach
If I screw up royally
In front of everyone to see
Would you still be there for me
Welcome to the brand new show
I'm thinking there's some things you should know
Doesn't matter if you're high or you're low
These people stick around as long as things go right
So welcome to the way things go
In this life you're gonna reap what you sow
Have fun figuring friend from foe
These people stick around as long as things go right
But I'm curious
And I'm terrified
What would happen if I lost this time
Would you understand?
Would you change your mind?
Or crucify me with the truth you find?
If I fail to practice what I preach
If I screw up royally
In front of everyone to see
Would you still be there for me
And if I ruin the whole thing
You said you'd love me endlessly
But you don't pick up when I ring
Does that make you a hypocrite like me?
So welcome to the streets of gold
Where you can have it all for the price of your soul
Doesn't matter if you're young or you're old
These people stick around as long as things go right
So are you gonna call or fold?
It's all yours if you do what you're told
Going once, twice, three times, sold
These people stick around as long as things go right
Before you touch the speck in my eye
Maybe you should look in your own
Cause I can see a forest has grown
In the holes in your face where your soul should go
If I fail to practice what I preach
If I screw up royally
In front of everyone to see
Would you still be there for me
And if I ruin the whole thing
You said you'd love me endlessly
But you don't pick up when I ring
Does that make you a hypocrite like me?

I said "mom I think I love her"
Bubbles coming up and I'm going under
Sinking down into your waves and your thunder
Can't judge a girl by the magazine cover
What you see is not what you get
You will sink in your life-vest
Weighted ankles on the ocean floor
Look up and face what you couldn't before
Call me titanic
No need to panic
Depressed or just manic
I didn't sweat you
Beneath the atlantic
Now drownings my habit
I'm still as the sabbath
Choking out on the truth
Iceberg
She's a
Iceberg
I said "age is just a number"
Date was set; best man was my brother
Till I'm scrolling down I see you with another
Now I'm blocking you and your dad and your mother
What you see is not what you get
You will sink in your life-vest
Weighted ankles on the ocean floor
Look up and face what you chose to ignore
Call me titanic
No need to panic
Depressed or just manic
I didn't sweat you
Beneath the atlantic
Now drownings my habit
I'm still as the sabbath
Choking out on the truth
I couldn't see
What was beneath
All of the things
You'd hidden from me
It's flooding my lungs
Baby I can't breathe
Now all I got left to do is
Sink
She's a
Iceberg
Make no mistake
It's clear to me exactly what you are
From beneath the waves
This salty point of view
I share with the sharks
And I know you think
That what's been done
Will stay down deep
Submerged and sunk
But the funny thing
About the truth
Is that it floats
And follows you
Call me titanic
No need to panic
Depressed or just manic
I didn't sweat you
Beneath the atlantic
Now drownings my habit
I'm still as the sabbath
Choking out on the truth
I couldn't see
What was beneath
All of the things
You'd hidden from me
It's flooding my lungs
Baby I can't breathe
Now all I got left to do is
She's a
Iceberg

sit back, relax,
suit, tie, and slacks,
dressed up in black,
can't get you back,
Here lie two young lovers,
Arms wrapped around eachother,
Two kids who lit a fire,
Scortched black by their desire,
now their skeletons are dancing,
with shakespearean devotion,
cant you feel the pulsing rhythm of this tradgedy?
cuz the irony is strangling,
all that's left of their emotion,
just another empty cadence of sincerety
sit back, relax,
(i could have sworn we just walked down the isle)
suit, tie, and slacks,
(with your hand inside of mine)
dressed up in black,
(and to make matters worse)
can't get you back,
(i think we left in a herse)
What love did they discover,
worshipping one another?
hot heat inside the covers,
now stone cold and six feet under,
now their skeletons are dancing,
with shakespearean devotion,
cant you feel the pulsing rhythm of this tradgedy?
cuz the irony is strangling,
all that's left of their emotion,
just another empty cadence of sincerety
sit back, relax,
(is it sweat or is it blood on my hands?)
suit, tie, and slacks,
(and is it mine or is it yours?)
dressed up in black,
(and I'm terrified to ask it)
can't get you back,
(but is that us in the casket)
now the fire's gone dark,
like the beat of our hearts,
till death do us part,
our first and final work of art

The Darkness

can a man know who he is,
til he's looked into the darkness,
and seen what's looking back
can a man know his heart,
til its been ripped out of his chest,
and placed in his bloody hands
can he know what's in his veins,
til he's split one,
and let it all run out
oh the horror,
oh the beauty,
of knowing what you are,
oh the nightmare,
oh the freedom,
of being what you are
can a man pass through the fire,
without choking on the ashes,
and losing all his hair,
can a man begin to rise,
until all that shakes within him,
has crumbled beyond repair,
can he see the other side,
til he exhales,
and lets it all run out
oh the horror,
oh the beauty,
of knowing what you are,
oh the nightmare,
oh the freedom,
of being what you are
if life is weeping,
can i weep with you
if life is singing,
can i sing with you
if life is weep,
can i weep with you
and if life is bleeding,
can i bleed with you
and if life is being,
can I be with you
